In April we had a nice visit from Shannon Salyer from Oregon who is with SHE Outdoor Apparel and Hilary Dyer, editor at Grand View Media Group in Birmingham. Corinna Slaughter, president of She Expeditions and Aaron Lisech came and spent an evening with us during their stay. Shannon and Hilary came to experience an Alabama wild turkey hunt! Hilary wrote a very nice article on her experience for Grand View Turkey Hunting. Bobby Gates, holder of multiple Grand Slams and Mazie did the guiding for the hunts. We had a wonderful several days with these two ladies. Here is Hilary’s article of her adventure.

Towards the end of the month, Bobby Gates returned to DQH and harvested the “Grand Daddy” Tom, a 22 lb trophy gobbler sporting 1 5/8” spurs and two beards (11” and 8”)!
